The C2C Cycle route passes right by Blakebeck Farm, 7 miles from Keswick on the route to Penrith.
The farm is half a mile from the centre of Mungrisdale village in the section of the ride which follows a gate road along the base of Souther fell to avoid the busy A66. Look out for Blakebeck Farm on the C2C Route half a mile from the Mill Inn in Mungrisdale. The camping barn provides good value overnight accommodation. With special facilities available only to cyclists, it is an ideal as a single night stop.
Catering specifically for cyclists traveling light Blakebeck Farm offers to provide full bedding and a breakfast for cyclists on the C2C Route. With hungry cyclists in mind a DIY breakfast of free range eggs from the farms hens, bread, bacon (or veggie alternative), juice, milk, tea and coffee can be provided for £5. Duvet, sheets and pillow sets are available for £5 and mattresses are already provided in the camping barn. Hot showers (£1) and a self catering kitchen with crockery and pans are available in the camping barn. Just half a mile away along a flat quite lane is the Mill Inn, a good pub serving evening meals.
